COMMONEWEALTH GAMES VILLAGE NEW DELHI

While Delhi is getting ready to host the Commonwealth Games in October 2010 the housing for athletes is being readied in the northeast part of Delhi. Situated to the picturesque Akshardham Temple, the village is spread over 158 acres of prime land just 20 minutes drive from the heart of New Delhi. The apartments being built are the most advanced housing space that the world has ever seen for Commonwealth Games. Built by Emaar MGF, a premium real estate developer, the Village can house 8500 people and has a mix of 2 to 5 bedroom apartments. The entire Village is internet connected through powerful wifi facility which will enable athletes round-the-clock connectivity to the internet.

The Village has easy access to all the games venues which fall within a 10-15 km radius from the area. The Yamuna river, one of the main rivers of India flowing down from the Hamalayas is adjacent also to the area. The city's primary rail network the Metro Railway passes from near the complex. One can reach any part of Delhi by using the extensive Metro Railway network. There are also plans to connect the main venue at Lodhi Road to the Games Village via a direct underpass which is being worked on.
