MIKE FENNELL REPLIES: BALL IN IOA'S COURT
Mike Fennell had replied to Suresh Kalmadi's demand for the ouster of CGF CEO Mike Hooper, by saying that there is no question of any change of CEO at this stage. However, it is believed that it is going to be tough going for Hooper since the bureacracy and ministers are going to continue pressing for a change. The Organizing Committee of the Commonwealth Games has accused Hooper of misbehaving with an official in July 2009 for which a complaint had been registered.
Ironically, mudlinging is going to become a sporting event in the Commonwealth games next year. See below :-)
MUDSLINGING AS A COMMONWEALTH GAME
It has been announced that mudslinging will become an event to be added to the Commonwealth Games from next year. However, the exact format of how the game will be played alongwith the rules of the game are yet to be finalised. The announcement was made by Suresh Kalmadi, IOA President alongwith Lalit Bhanot, Secretary general of the Commonwealth Games Organising Committee. A practical demonstration was also carried out for the benefit of the journalists present. Kalmadi will be making the proposal to include mudslinging in the next year's games. He said that in case mudslinging is not accepted as a game then there will be a campaign against the Commonwealth Games in India since it is a matter of national pride.
